North Vancouver

They're two separate municipalities sharing the North Shore. The City is smaller and more urban, centred around Lonsdale and the SeaBus terminal. The District is larger and more suburban, covering neighbourhoods like Lynn Valley, Edgemont, and Deep Cove, with bigger lots and a more mountain-community feel.

The SeaBus runs every 10–15 minutes from Lonsdale Quay to Waterfront Station downtown — a 12-minute crossing. Highway 1 and the Lions Gate Bridge also connect, though bridge traffic during rush hour is a real factor to plan around.

Carson Graham Secondary (IB World School — Middle Years and Diploma Programmes), Handsworth Secondary (North Vancouver's largest, ~1,600 students), Sutherland Secondary, Seycove Secondary (Deep Cove area), Windsor Secondary, Argyle Secondary, and SD44 North Vancouver serves the whole district.

Lonsdale Quay Market (waterfront market and food hall), Capilano Mall, Park & Tilford Gardens shopping area, Edgemont Village shops and restaurants, and Lower Lonsdale's independent shops and restaurants along Lonsdale Avenue.

Grouse Mountain (skiing, snowboarding, skyride, ziplines), Mount Seymour Provincial Park (skiing, snowshoeing, hiking), Lynn Canyon Park & Suspension Bridge (free admission), Lynn Headwaters Regional Park, Deep Cove (kayaking, paddleboarding, Baden Powell Trail), and Quarry Rock hike (one of Metro Vancouver's most popular day hikes).

North Vancouver is mainly known for a mix of established housing. North Vancouver spans the City and District of North Vancouver on the North Shore, from the urban waterfront energy of Lower Lonsdale and the SeaBus terminal to mountain-backed family neighbourhoods in Lynn Valley, Edgemont Village, and Deep Cove.
